Visiting during the night is only allowed in special cases.

The Intensive Care and Monitoring Unit M1 has 20 beds, of which 13–15 are currently in use. Three beds are suitable for patients who require isolation. The ward is divided between two wings into M1A and M1B.

The Intensive Care and Monitoring Unit M1 provides demanding intensive care and intensive monitoring services for patients of various specialities. Our duties are mainly related to emergencies, including treatment of e.g. patients who require ventilator support due to difficult respiratory insufficiency, patients with various infections, neurological patients and resuscitated patients, and patients with acute kidney injury, or patients in need of continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT).

The Intensive Care and Monitoring Unit M1 works in close collaboration with The Intensive Care Unit 20, and we treat surgical patients in need of intensive care when necessary. We also participate in the follow-ups after intensive care.
Our ward performs active research to develop medicine and nursing.
