Coronary Care Unit (CCU) is a monitoring ward that provides intensive monitoring of vital functions due to an acute cardiac illness, such as acute coronary syndrome. Our team of cardiac specialists takes care of the patients. The main principles in our care are equality and individual treatment of patients and their loved ones.

Our ward has nine hospital beds, and the average stay at our ward lasts 1–2 days. From our ward, patients transfer, for example, to general wards, to a hospital closer to their home, to an operating unit, or to intensive care. Our ward provides emergency care, and thus we actively co-operate with emergency medical services, the Cardiac Unit, emergency clinic, operation unit, intensive care units, general wards, other hospitals, and patient transfer services.

To ensure our patients receive the treatment and rest they need to recover, we ask visitors to keep visits short. The visiting hours are between 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm. No flowers and no fragrances, please. The use of mobile phones and other smart devices is prohibited due to the nature of the unit.
