If you have questions about the procedure, please contact the surgery scheduler in your treating unit.
Patients are referred to the Surgical Day Unit for procedures in several specialties, such as gastroenterology, cardiac and vascular surgery, and urology.
Patients prepare for procedures at home according to instructions they have been given in advance and arrive to the unit on the morning of the procedure day. After the pre-procedure preparations, patients will wait for being called into the procedure or examination.
Patients’ condition is monitored in the unit after the procedure or examination. After monitoring, patients are either discharged from the hospital or transferred to an inpatient ward of the corresponding specialty.
