Leiko is an operating model
where patients arrive to the hospital’s Leiko unit on the morning of their
surgery date at an agreed-upon time. The patient performs surgery
preparations at home according to instructions given over the phone or at a
pre-surgery appointment.
After surgery, patients
are first monitored in a recovery room, and then transferred to an inpatient
ward of the corresponding specialty for further treatment.
