The Respiratory Paralysis Unit treats adult respiratory paralysis patients in their homes. Respiratory paralysis refers to a situation in which the patient’s respiration is permanently and entirely or almost entirely dependent on mechanical ventilation. Respiratory paralysis can be caused by a range of diseases. The patient’s treatment team includes five enrolled nurses, and the treatment is implemented and planned together with a multidisciplinary team.
