The Malmi Hospital Emergency Department primarily serves patients over the age of 16 from eastern, south-eastern, north-eastern, and northern Helsinki.

Health Center Emergency Service
Open Mon–Fri 16:00 - 22:00 and on weekends 8:00 - 22:00.   
Mon–Fri, between 8:00 and 16:00, the primary treatment place for residents of Helsinki in sudden illnesses and minor injuries is their local health center.

Specialized Health Care Emergency Service
Open 24 hours a day. Patients arrive to the specialized health care emergency department with a doctor's referral or, in emergencies, without a referral.

Emergency care for children and adolescents under the age of 16 residing in Helsinki takes place in New Children's Hospital.
