Ward L2 is split into two locations in the Jorvi Hospital building: L2a is located in the N tower on the 6th floor and L2b is located in the N tower on the 5th floor. On ward L2, care is provided for premature and newborn babies. Babies are mainly referred from the Jorvi hospital's labor ward, maternity ward, Emergency Outpatient Clinic, Children's Hospital and Women's Hospital.

Majority of the infants in treatment are small premature babies or other neonates transferred from Women's Hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care for further treatment. Additionally, the ward provides treatment for minor neonatal health problems such as slight breathing difficulties, low blood sugar, infections, or jaundice.
Treatment periods vary from a few hours to several months.

Parents are encouraged to participate in caring for their child from the start despite the medical and monitoring devices. We offer advice and support in caring for the baby, breastfeeding and maintaining lactation. Breastfeeding is possible as soon as the baby's condition permits it. If the ward's bed occupancy situation allows it, a parent may spend the night with the baby.

The ward has 27 patient beds of which 6 are beds for intensive care. The ward employs doctors, nurses and pediatric practical nurses who are all specialized in neonatology. A child psychiatry team, a social worker, and a physiotherapist also participate in treatment, among others.

The ward does not have specific visiting times. Parents and siblings are welcome to visit the ward at suitable times. Visits by other people must be agreed upon in advance with the ward's personnel. L2 appointments
L2 appointments are held in building LP1. After the ward period, appointments are held for neonatal development monitoring and other check-ups. Once a small premature baby is discharged, rehabilitation instructors perform home visits and participate in the L2 appointments.
