The Haartman Emergency Department primarily serves patients over the age of 16 from southern, central, and western Helsinki. In urgent cases, care is provided regardless of place of residence.
Health Center Emergency Service
Open Mon–Fri in the evenings and at night between 16:00 and 8:00, and open 24 hours a day on the weekends and public holidays.
Mon–Fri, between 8:00 and 16:00, the primary treatment place for residents of Helsinki in sudden illnesses and minor injuries is their local health center.
Specialized Health Care Emergency Service Open 24 hours a day. Patients arrive to the specialized health care emergency department with a doctor's referral or, in emergencies, without a referral.
Emergency care for children and adolescents under the age of 16 residing in Helsinki takes place in New Children's Hospital.
Evening and weekend emergency dental care will relocate to the Surgial Hospital temporarily on 7 January 2019. Please call 09 471 71110 before seeking emergency dental care.
