Mothers who have given birth and new-born babies are treated at the ward. Families will be guided in caring for the baby, breast feeding and the mother’s recovery. The length of treatment is planned on individual basis.

The rooms are single rooms with enough space for the mother and baby and one additional grown-up to stay overnight.

The ward has family rooms, and all of its operations are governed by WHO and UNICEF's Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative.

Visiting hours
Visiting hours at the wards N6C and N6E are from 8 am to 8 pm every day. We kindly ask families to guide their visitors to the correct room themselves. Visitors are asked to leave the room when care procedures are performed.

Persons suffering from an infectious disease are not allowed to visit.
Visiting the ward during influenza and RSV season
Visiting the inpatient ward will be limited during the flu season to provide safety for our patients and prevent the spread of infections. Only two people are allowed to visit a patient at a time. Please ask the staff first if the baby’s siblings are allowed to visit. You are not allowed to visit the ward if you are suffering from an infectious disease. We recommend that patients mainly remain in their rooms at the ward during the flu season. The staff can give you further information about visiting. You are not allowed to visit the ward if you are suffering from an infectious disease.
Note! Due to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic visits are not allowed.
