HUH Head and Neck Center is a nationally important centre for diseases in the head and neck area. The Head and Neck Center provides treatment to patients in the specialities of dental, oral and maxillofacial diseases, ear, nose and throat diseases, neurosurgery, neurology and eye diseases. All our specialities provide 24-hour emergency services.
We represent top-notch expertise at the university hospital level, with related regional and national obligations for demanding specialised medical care. At the same time, we are a hospital that provides specialised medical care in the Helsinki metropolitan area and also treats the most common diseases in our speciality. We perform about 19,000 surgical operations every year. As a hospital organising teaching and research, we are in the forefront of the development of medicine. Consequently, we also network and cooperate actively at international level. We monitor the quality of the treatment and care we provide and our results are good. The accessibility of treatment is within the time limits required by law.
The patient and the referring physician may agree to choose HUH Head and Neck Center as the operational unit providing municipal specialised medical care.

HUH Eye Diseases

- Surgical treatment of glaucoma and red wavelength laser treatment of the ciliary body, a method developed at HUH Eye Diseases. Thanks to the laser treatment, having to remove an eye due to blindness and pain caused by high eye pressure is very exceptional today.
