HUCH Comprehensive Cancer Center is the largest cancer treatment center in Finland. An expert in its field, it is also an internationally respected facility. At the Department of Oncology, every patient receives personal, high-quality care guaranteed by the skilled personnel and the state-of-the-art technology they have at their disposal.
Annually, approximately 15,500 patients are treated at the Department of Oncology. The number of personnel totals 240, with over 50 specialists in oncology and specialising physicians. Every day, approximately 500 patients are treated in the outpatient clinics, wards and radiotherapy ward. The Department of Oncology also has a laboratory, a Medical Imaging Center and units for clinical trials, palliative care and psychosocial treatment. The Department of Oncology provides radiotherapy exclusively and nearly 90% of chemotherapy in the HUS area.
HUCH Comprehensive Cancer Center has recently been audited by OECI (Organisation of European Cancer Institutes) as Comprehensive Cancer Center.
