HUS Coagulation Disorder Unit focuses on the comprehensive assessment of occlusion and circulation problems by combining laboratory data with the current clinical situation. In addition to the development of diagnostics, treatment and follow up, the tasks of the unit include the early detection of coagulation disorders. The unit serves several specialities and its core functions include consultations and patient advice.

The most common consultation issues include
  • Treatment of occlusions and bleeds and their laboratory follow up
  • Appearance of occlusions despite traditional medication
  • Prevention of occlusions
  • Preparation of difficult occlusion and hemorrhagic disorder patients for procedures
  • Problems of patients suffering from hereditary hemorrhagic diseases

  • The Coagulation Disorder Unit arranges monitoring for patients suffering from severe predisposition to occlusions and hemorrhagic diseases (e.g. haemophilia and von Willebrand's disease). Thanks to the close co-operation between the laboratory service and clinical operations, examinations can be better allocated and results interpretation and examination selection can be developed.
