There are 6 operating rooms in the Operating and Anesthesia Unit of the Children's Hospital. There is also a day surgery unit in the the outpatient clinic.
The Children's Hospital is nationally responsible for open-heart surgery and organ transplantations which are part of the unit's daily operations. In addition to cardiac surgery and organ transplantations, a wide variety of other operations are performed in the unit, including scoliosis surgeries, urological and gastroenterological operations, neonatal and pediatric surgeries, orthopedics and traumatological operations, and otological and oncological surgeries.
The unit is responsible for providing anesthetic services to patients admitted to the Children's Hospital and Children's Castle in 14 different locations, including MRI, CT, radiology, cardiac assessment unit, dentists, etc. The services of pain management nurses are available in all of the units of the Children's Hospital.
The unit is on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and operations are performed around the clock, if necessary.
