In emergencies (severe shortness of breath, profuse bleeding from a large cut, or a seizure), call the emergency number 112. Paramedics will assess the care need and take the patient to the appropriate care facility.

Pediatric Emergency Clinic will open
in the New Children's Hospital on Tuesday 25 September at 8:00 am.  The City of Helsinki’s pediatric health centre emergency service will open on Tuesday 25 September at 16.00 pm.

The Emergency Clinic of the Children’s Hospital treats patients aged 0-15 across all medical subspecialties. As a rule, patients come in with a referral. Some of the patients are critically ill; others need testing, monitoring, or other medical assessment.

The Children’s Hospital also offers the City of Helsinki’s pediatric health centre emergency service on weekdays from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and at weekends from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Physicians providing the emergency service work for the City of Helsinki. The service is available to children and adolescents aged 0-15 from Helsinki, Vantaa, Espoo and Kauniainen.

The Emergency Clinic also admits accident patients for treatment and scheduled follow-up.
